OUR TEAM

OUR PLAN
More than a walk—a people's movement.
Last fall, hundreds of Americans marched 160 miles from Philadelphia’s Independence Hall to the steps of Congress, carrying a copy of the Constitution. Along the way, communities came together—in rallies, teach-ins, and shared meals—to remind the nation what democracy looks like.
This spring, we’re marching again. To reconnect the communities we met, to reach new ones, and to prove once more that Americans are still united and committed to fulfilling the promises of freedom.
Zoom WAAM Info/Q&A Sessions
Mondays @ 12 pm ET, Tuesdays @ 8pm ET
What is WAAM? Why are we marching? What's it like to march? Showers? Bathrooms? Blisters?
We march for more reasons than there are miles (so the "Why are we marching?" answer ends up being kind of complicated), but we all share the belief that when our government stops taking care of us, we need to step up and take care of each other.
Join an info session to learn more about the march. It'll start with a short presentation followed by Q&A session.
What about laundry? You'll have to register to find out.
OUR VISION & VALUES
NON-VIOLENCE

We practice disciplined, peaceful resistance because history shows that strategic non-violence is the most powerful engine of lasting change.
COMMUNITY

As we pass through each town, we welcome neighbors of every background to join us—strengthening local bonds and leaving communities and marchers more connected than before.
SAFETY

We’ve built a thorough safety plan—vetted routes, trained peacekeepers, traveling medics, daily briefings, and coordination with local authorities—so every mile is as secure as it is inspiring.
